An 18-year-old man was stabbed last week at about 2 p.m. near Sierra Vista Junior High School, officials said.

The victim was walking east on the 19000 block of Stillmore Street, toward Whites Canyon Road, on Friday when he was approached by two teenagers who were sitting on a curb, said Sgt. Darren Harris with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

After making a series of gang-related comments, one of the attackers punched the victim in the head while the other stabbed the victim in the torso with a knife, Harris said.

After being attacked, the victim ran back toward Camp Plenty Road and called 911 for help, Harris said.

The attackers ran in the other direction toward Whites Canyon. Fire department officials responded to the call and gave the victim medical help.

His injuries were not life-threatening, Harris said.

Sheriff's deputies searched the surrounding area for the two attackers and interviewed witnesses but were unable to locate either, Harris said. Officials are still investigating the incident.

The attackers are believed to be two males 17 to 19 years old. One of the attackers is about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing about 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. The other is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff's department at (661) 255-1121.
