This December, Metrolink's Holiday Toy Express returns to the Santa Clarita Valley, bringing holiday cheer and collecting toys for families in need.

This year, after a stop at the Newhall Metrolink Station Dec. 4, the train will stop at the Via Princessa Metrolink Station on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 8:15 p.m.

Metrolink's Holiday Toy Express is a decorated train that brings a live musical performance, community fun and an opportunity to meet Santa Claus to 47 Metrolink communities. This is its 13th consecutive year of service.

"The Metrolink Holiday Toy Express is a great way to help spread holiday cheer this season," said Santa Clarita Mayor Pro Tem Marsha McLean. "Decorated with holiday displays and 50,000 twinkling lights, the Holiday Toy Express allows residents to donate to children in need, while enjoying a fantastic holiday show."

The event supports the Spark of Love Toy Drive, which collects and distributes toys to needy children. The drive is coordinated by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Children and Family Services, KABC Channel 7 and other organizations.

Attendance is free; visitors are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift to donate to the Spark of Love toy drive.

The Via Princessa Metrolink Station is located at 19201 Via Princessa, Canyon Country 91351.
