A suspected bank robber who stole an undisclosed amount of money from a Santa Barbara bank was arrested Saturday evening near College of the Canyons in Valencia, officials confirmed Monday.

According to the FBI and the Santa Barbara Police Department, the suspect, whose identity was not released Monday afternoon, was arrested shortly after FBI agents found a vehicle at a Valencia home that matched eyewitness descriptions at the bank.

With the assistance of deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, agents sought the suspect at a home off of Old Course Way in Valencia.

When they arrived, the man reportedly tried to flee and managed to get into his car and drive away from his home.

The ensuing pursuit was short-lived, as agents and deputies were able to pull the vehicle over on Rockwell Canyon Road near COC and make an arrest.

The Santa Barbara Police Department confirmed Monday that the man was in custody and booked on felony charges, though the nature of charges were not officially released.

According to the FBI, federal charges will not brought, meaning the state will have jurisdiction over the matter.
