Voters, be responsible

With all the letters to the editor published in The Signal and all the hype about the Nov. 3, 2009 election, the voter turnout bombed in the Santa Clarita Valley.

I can't believe that the voters of Santa Clarita Valley turned out in such a low number. The turnout of voters was between 14 percent and 18 percent. That is shameful. This community is supposed to be so civic-minded and caring, and not to show up to vote was very surprising. Voting is a right and a privilege, and to waste those two wonderful rights was a complete waste. Not to show the candidates who worked so hard the courtesy of turning out and voting for them must have been devastating for them. There had to be at least one or two candidates who the voter could have voted for.

Voters could have taken a few minutes out of their day to have stopped off at the polls to vote.

Voters, don't waste your voting privileges again. Be a good citizen and a good example to the up-and-coming voters.
