A note from the SCV Senior Center: Thanks, and a reminder

To all who have helped support the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center this past year, we offer our sincere thanks. And, if you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution in 2009, we offer this reminder that you only have today and tomorrow in which to do so.

The non-profit Senior Center needs the community's support now more than ever, as government funding cuts have endangered valuable programs that serve local seniors in need.

We've focused on these needs this holiday giving season, but the needs continue throughout the year: Without the SCV Senior Center's Home Delivered Meals Program, many local seniors would not have a hot meal to eat each day. Without our Adult Day Care Respite Program, many caregivers coping with their loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's and other memory-afflicting diseases would not have the expert help and relief they need to get themselves and their senior loved ones through the rigors of daily life.

We are dedicated to ensuring dignity and an improved quality of life for the Santa Clarita Valley's seniors who need our help the most, like the more than 50,000 community elders we have served in the past 33 years. Your Senior Center helped more than 8,500 seniors last year with your support, and participation in our programs is projected to double in the coming year!

Please help the SCV Senior Center serve local seniors in need. Your support will bring a hot meal to a homebound senior, or provide a day of care in a safe, nurturing environment.

We sincerely appreciate your support!

Thank you,

Patti Rasmussen
President, SCV Senior Center Foundation

All contributions produce results
Every gift, large or small, helps us improve quality of life for local seniors. Each contribution can help us feed seniors who otherwise may not get a hot meal, or provide transportation to medical appointments, or provide professional day care for seniors suffering from Alzheimer's.

- A $10 contribution buys one senior's lunch at the Senior Center for one week.

- A gift of $15 buys one week's worth of Home Delivered Meals for a homebound senior.

- $100 buys one day of emergency Personal Care service.
