Deputies are searching for a driver of an SUV who was involved in a collision with a bicyclist in Canyon Country last month, sheriff's officials said Thursday.

About 2:40 p.m. on Dec. 30, a driver hit a bicyclist with a gray Chevy SUV while turning left onto Vista Del Canon from Via Princessa, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station report.

The bicyclist received minor injuries, and Los Angeles County Fire paramedics immediately responded to the scene, the report said.

The driver stayed at the location while the bicyclist was taken to the hospital. However, a delay in a call to the sheriff's station resulted in the driver not being identified, the report said.

Deputies are not considering the collision a hit-and-run and are trying to identify the driver for reporting purposes only, the report said.

Anyone with information about the driver is asked to contact the station's traffic office at (661) 799-5112.
