Take it to Venice Beach

As I read Jonathan Randles’ article “Shades of beige” (The Signal, Jan. 18), in which he detailed a disgruntled home owner’s dispute with the Old Orchard 1 homeowners association, I could not help but notice a less-than-subtle anti-HOA bias on the part of the reporter.

One of the many reasons why I chose to live in OO1 is for the vigilance and enforcement by our board of directors of the covenants, conditions and restrictions.

For Gibson to state that the color he selected to paint the exterior of his home was similar to the colors on the approved list is a distorted view of reality.

His vivid, squash yellow-painted home (since painted in stripes) is nowhere near compatible with any other home in our development.

If Gibson is intent on expressing his unique artistic style, I suggest he take his gentle protest and move to Venice Beach.
