Hospital advances plans for more parking

Parking at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital's campus is on the list of priorities related to the need for increased health care services to the Santa Clarita Valley.

In preparation for a new parking structure, the hospital is subdividing a 21.31 acre parcel into three different parcels: one for the parking structure, one for an administration building, and the third and largest parcel dedicated to the main hospital buildings already on the property.

The hospital will continue to own all three of the land parcels, which will remain a total 21.31 acres combined.

Subdividing the land for the parking structure and admin building projects allows the hospital to legally separate the projects and provides greater flexibility and options in the future when financing decisions are needed.

Approval to proceed with construction is not associated with the subdivision of the property, but is a step toward planning added capacity in the best interest of the public.

Currently the hospital administration and other administrative services are housed in temporary structures on the campus and in leased space in the Granary Square retail park.

Local residents are invited to call the hospital at (661) 200-2222 if they have questions about the Master Plan.
