Keep them busy at the Boys & Girls Club
Babysitters cost too much. Why not enroll your kids in the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley for only $24 a year? Summer programs have just started at the Newhall, Val Verde and Sierra Vista locations, with days starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m. And if you really want a day of peace, enroll your kids in an extended care program from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. for an extra $10 a day.

"Our summer programs offer youth a wide variety of activities to engage them in fun, keep them physically active, and continue to challenge their minds," says Matthew Nelson, branch manager for the Newhall facility. "At $24 a year membership, there is no better deal to keep young people involved in positive activities."

Children will be playing such sports as co-ed teen soccer, teen girls basketball and indoor baseball for children ages 7 to 13. Field trips include amusement parks, zoos, the beach, ice skating, deep-sea fishing and sporting events. The digital arts program will allow children 10 and older to use computers to make movies. And children 14 years and older may gain work experience through the club's Youth Employment Services.

Call the nearest branch for more information: Newhall (661) 254-CLUB; Sierra Vista (661) 251-6017; or Val Verde (661) 257-4021.
