The Santa Clarita Organization for Planning and the Environment (SCOPE) will be holding their regular business meeting 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 18 at Valencia Hills Club House, 24060 Oak Vale Dr., Valencia 91355.

The meeting's agenda will focus on current SCOPE activity updates and new business from the floor.

After, at 7:30 p.m., SCOPE will host an environmentally themed movie night fundraiser and discussion. A $10 discussion is requested which will include popcorn and soda.

There's limited seating so it will be going on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The film shown will be the 2007 Sundance Film Festival Winner "The Unforeseen."

The movie focuses on an ambitious developer who sets out to transform thousands of acres of pristine hill country around Austin, Texas into a suburban development. The community fights back. In the conflict that ensues, viewers can see the struggle between development and preservation, between the destruction of the natural world and an often fleeting dream, that is playing out today in the Santa Clarita Valley.
