Catholic sisters profess vows
Who: The Sisters of the Society Devoted to the Sacred Heart
What: The Sisters would like to extend an invitation to members of the Santa Clarita Valley community to join them for the Mass of Religious Profession. At this Mass, five Sacred Heart sisters will profess or renew their vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. The celebrant will be Bishop Gerald E. Wilkerson.
Sisters who will be professing vows:
First Profession of Vows: Sister Laura Bradford
Renewal of Temporary Profession of Vows: Sister Gabrielle Vogl, Sister Veronica Farkas, Sister Rose Amoranto and Sister Ines Horvath

Young Life event
Who: Young Life, an organization that reaches out to youth and teaches them about God
What: The organization is hosting "An Event You'll Flip Over" at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Tickets are $45 and include an all-you-can-eat buffet and rides. Children under 3 are free. All proceeds support Young Life and its various ministries for youth.
When: 7-11 p.m. Friday

Pysanky party
Who: St. Stephen's Episcopal Church
What: Fourth annual Pysanky making class. Pysanky are Ukrainian Easter eggs using the wax and dye method. Mothers passed on the ancient tradition to daughters a few weeks before Easter. Class is open to all. Bring a dozen or half-dozen raw, room-temperature eggs. Utensils and tools for applying wax will be provided. Charge of $2 per person.

Special comedic guest
Who: Comic/singer/songwriter Mark Eddie, plus special guests
What: Eddie, of Castaic, will be headlining a benefit comedy show. He is known for "comedy that rocks" and is a five-time Campus Entertainer of the Year nominee. He is the former host of NBC's regional syndicated show, "Date Night TV." Tickets are on sale for $20.

Easter on the rocks
Who: Alliance of Christian Churches of Acton and Agua Dulce
What: This pageant at Vasquez Rocks depicts the trial, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It includes live music as well as the re-enactment of the biblical events of Christ's last hours. This is all presented in dramatic fashion.
Parking and seating is available on a first-come basis. Handicapped and elderly parking is available toward the front area of the pageant. Dress warmly. No admission fee, but offering donations accepted.
When: Two Easter services at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3 and at 5 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 4
