Conflict of interest

I have voted for Frank Ferry in every election.

Based on a story in The Signal some months ago, I will not be voting for Ferry in this election.

As a mayor and/or councilman, his interests should be for the betterment of Santa Clarita. As principal of Bishop Alemany High School in the San Fernando Valley, he has to do what is best for his paying job and school.

This presents a conflict of interest.

I understand that Ferry has been recruiting athletes from the Santa Clarita Valley to attend his high school. This weakens the sports programs in our valley. I’m surprised there is not more comment about this.

I have researched and found out that this does not raise to a legal definition of conflict of interest. I do believe it is a moral conflict of interest.

That will cost Mr. Ferry my vote.
