The second Santa Clarita Valley Jewish Food Festival comes to Bridgeport Marketplace on May 16. More than 20 vendors offering a diverse selection of Jewish delicacies will attend.

“This is a one-of-a-kind culinary adventure for Santa Clarita,” said Sandi Hershenson, chair of the event, which is  sponsored by Temple Beth Ami.

One doesn’t have to be Jewish to appreciate a hot corned beef sandwich, frozen yogurt, some hummus or a fresh bagel.

The festival hosts several new vendors this year, including, Swirly’s Frozen Yogurt, Dink’s Deli, Challah King, Gourmet Blends, Shave It and many more.

The event also features original creations from local artisans, a bouncy house, photo booth, face-painting, arts and crafts and live music.

Special musical guests include Wendy Hersh, Wendee’s Music, and the Kadima Conservatory Quartet. Krav Maga, the Israeli-designed self-defense method used globally by law enforcement officers, will be demonstrated.

Last year’s festival brought out more than 1,000 people.

“This year’s event will be larger in scale,” Hershenson said. “We can’t wait for Santa Clarita to experience the best Jewish food festival in Los Angeles County.”

Child admission is free; adult admission is $5. Attendees can bring a non-perishable grocery item donation for the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry in exchange for a two-for-one adult admission. A current 25-Score card also scores two-for-one adult admission.
