David Scott Klajic, son of Louis Klajic of Santa Clarita and former Santa Clarita Mayor Jill Klajic of Oakdale, has completed his doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is now a resident at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Klajic graduated from Canyon High School in 1989.

He attended Sky Blue Mesa and Santa Clarita Christian Elementary Schools.

He received his master's from The Master's College in Santa Clarita.

After a decade of working with his father in their Van Nuys-based aerospace company, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2000.

Following his four-year enlistment, he went back to school at Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Stanford in Palo Alto and was awarded the U.S. Army Health Profession Scholarship.

He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant during his fourth year. Upon completion of the fourth year, he was promoted to Captain in the U.S. Army and began his internship year in 2008.

While serving in the National Guard, Klajic was again placed on active duty status.

Klajic is married to Mychael Long-Klajic and they have two children, Christopher 13, and Kenna, 1. Mychael Long-Klajic is an emergency room nurse, who is also a Southern California native. The couple met while in their 30s.

They live in Martinez, Georgia while he completes his Post-Doctoral residency year before deploying next year, most likely to Afghanistan.

Captain Klajic, will receive his doctorate on June 5, from Pacific School of Psychology, in a ceremony at Stanford University in Palo Alto.
