Lexus Jazz and Blues Series

The sounds of live jazz and blues bands once again fill Town Center Drive in Valencia during the 10th annual Lexus of Valencia Jazz & Blues Concert Series. Hours for the concerts will be 7 - 9:30 p.m. and they will take place on Town Center Drive adjacent to the Hyatt Valencia. No pets or outside food or beverages are allowed. Admission is free. Mission Peak Moonlight Hike

Moderate 5 mi, 1200’ gain to view San Fernando Valley.  Meet 7 p.m. at trail head (take 405 Fwy to 118 Fwy W, exit Balboa N, 2 mi to Sesnon, W 1 mi to Neon Way, R to end of street).  Bring water, lug soles and flashlight. Roshambo Tournament

Saxtravaganza 2008

Saxtravaganza 2008 will be held 7 p.m. Sunday, July 20 at  William S. Hart Auditorium,  24825 Newhall Ave. Newhall. The public is invited to a free concert  featuring an all-saxophone band, under the direction of Kathleen Maxwell. A variety of musical styles will be featured on this year’s program, including the Pachabel Canon and Gigue, Beethoven’s Rondino and 2 short works by Bach. Also, Rossini’s Overture from “William Tell” and the beautiful “Agnus Dei from Bizet’s L’Arlesienne Suite, no.2.

Community Fundraiser
The Girl’s Varsity basketball team at Golden Valley is holding a community fundraiser on Friday.  A bus will go to the “Family Feud”  game show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pickup and drop off will be at Golden Valley High in front of the gym. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.  Anyone over 15 is welcome to participate. Dress appropriately for a TV show. REP ‘81 Series’ is ‘HurlyBurly’

Whitney Canyon Wild Heritage Hike

History of Native Americans of SCV
The Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society will present the History of Native Americans of the SCV 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at  College of the Canyons, Valencia Campus, Mentry Hall, Room 318, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road

Boys and Girls Club Offers Free  Performing Arts Camp Aug. 4-8
Showdown Performing Arts Theater Camp will offer a full week of theater classes, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 4-8 at the Sierra Vista Branch of the Santa Clarita Valley Boys and Girls Club on the campus of Sierra Vista Junior High School, 19425 Stillmore, Canyon Country.
