The city of Santa Clarita will host "Storytime Adventures," a no-cost interactive event where local youth are read stories aloud at the Sports Complex Activities Center.

"Storytime Adventures" will be held on Wednesdays, June 23 through Wednesday, July 21 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

"Storytime Adventures" will feature a story reading and an adventure related craft activity to coincide with the day's featured adventure theme.

The adventure themes include Under the Sea, Pirates, Western, Space and the Jungle.

The program is open to children ages 3-10 years old.

"The city's no-cost 'Storytime Adventures' is a great way to get this age group interested in reading and provides parents the opportunity to build reading time into their summer schedule," Mayor Laurene Weste said.

Residents may visit the Sports Complex Activities Center to sign up and reserve a spot at "Storytime Adventures." Space is limited and registration is required to ensure a place in the class.

The Santa Clarita Sports Complex Activities Center is located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita 91351.
