Cleveland (AP) - Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson thanked LeBron James for his contributions to the city at a news conference today. Jackson said the superstar's decision to leave the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat "is not going to make or break Cleveland."

He wished James well and said he does not consider his move "personal against the city." But, he said, fans' anger is of the same magnitude as when Art Modell moved the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore in 1995.

Jackson called the city resilient, saying it has many assets that have sustained it in the past and will do so in the future.

He said he will take Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert at his word that his team will win an NBA championship before James.
