Los Angeles County - The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved nearly $8 million to hire a team of health care and mental health professionals in county probation camps, according to Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

The motion introduced by Supervisors Ridley-Thomas and Antonovich develops safeguards and oversight to ensure that these funds are spent in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Oct. 31, 2008 agreement between the county and the Department of Justice to improve juvenile justice programs, practices and outcomes for youth in county probation camps.
