The city of Santa Clarita and the Emergency Network of Los Angeles will conduct a free half-day disaster plan training for faith-based and non-profit organizations.

The training will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Activities Center.

The training will assist organizations in developing or enhancing their disaster plans and emergency continuity of operations.

Space is limited to 50 attendees. The deadline to register is Monday, Sept. 13.

"These important trainings will give faith-based and non-profit organizations the tools to build a more resilient and better-prepared disaster plan," Mayor Laurene Weste said.

The preparedness training will provide a workable disaster plan template, business continuity recommendations and assist the organization in developing best practices for special needs. There will be subject experts and mentors to assist with disaster plan development.

The Santa Clarita Activity Center is located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita 91350.

For more information on the training, contact Donna Nuzzi, Emergency Services supervisor at (661) 250-3721 or
