SIMI VALLEY, Calif. -- Students attending the online California Virtual Academies (CAVA) will log on back to school Monday, Aug. 30.

Founded in 2002, the California Virtual Academies make up a network of online charter schools serving students in grades K-12 throughout the state.

CAVA offers a quality public school experience engaging students through an individualized and innovative online curriculum, and in-person field trips and class activities.

"Back to school time is a reminder of how important it is for students to have access to high quality online public school options such as CAVA," said CAVA's Head of School Katrina Abston. "CAVA has been an extraordinary success for thousands of students across the state of California. All of us at CAVA are excited for the beginning of our new school year."

Students at the California Virtual Academies received back to school shipments delivering their academic supplies right to their doorstep. Supplies range from supplemental texts to biology equipment.

Over the years, CAVA has become a popular choice for nontraditional students with its highly individualized education program, innovative instructional model, and use of cutting edge technology.

California Virtual Academies use the award-winning, nationally acclaimed curriculum and academic program developed by K12 Inc., the nation's largest provider of curriculum and online school programs for students in kindergarten through high school.

At CAVA, students are able to receive a complete, high quality education at home, on the road, or wherever an Internet connection can be found.

CAVA teachers provide instruction, guidance and support, and regularly interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone, and face-to-face meetings.

California Virtual Academies is still accepting enrollment applicants and is hosting multiple events for students and teachers, as well as online showcases and information sessions.

The California Virtual Academies use the K12 curriculum to offer California students in grades K-12 an exceptional learning experience.

With individualized learning approaches, the California Virtual Academies and K12 provide the tools kids need to succeed in school and beyond.
