The Santa Clarita City Council has made $80,000 in funding available to Santa Clarita Valley-based nonprofit organizations via its Community Services Grant Program.

This year, funds will be available for one-time projects, program enhancements and pilot programs.

The Community Services and Arts Grants bidders meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 12 p.m. in Canyon Rooms A and B of the Santa Clarita Activities Center, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita 91350.

Although it is not mandatory that grant applicants attend this meeting, it is highly recommended.

"The city recognized the need to support the local non-profits that do so much to provide invaluable services in our community," Mayor Laurene Weste said.

In addition to the opportunity for questions, this meeting will include information on funding categories and amounts, timelines, insurance and budget requirements andgeneral criteria.
