Open House for Dr. Michael Lin and Valerie Luethge-Stern, PA-C, MPAS
Dr. Michael Lin's Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute and Appearance Institute has found a new home in Dr. Howard Hu's Valencia Plastic Surgery building, located at 26357 McBean Parkway, Suite 215 in Valencia.

To commemorate the move, the two institutes will host an open house on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for guests to meet the staff and see the new space. Refreshments will be provided and there will be a raffle.

Lin is a California-licensed physician and board-certified dermatologist. He is also a diplomat of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Medical Association. The doctor specializes in laser surgery, cosmetic dermatology and general/pediatric dermatology.

Valerie Luethge-Stern, PA-C, MPAS, is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in dermatology and dermatological surgery. She is a clinical laser education/trainer for Alma lasers and instructs medical offices across the nation in dermatological laser technology.

Lisa Starr Joins Local Accounting Firm, Denny & Company, LLP
Lisa Starr has joined the local CPA firm, Denny & Company, LLP. A certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Starr specializes in the implementation, use and maintenance of QuickBooks. She also has a background in small business accounting, corporate and individual tax, as well as audit and compilation.

"Lisa is truly our rising Starr," Carolyn Denny, founding partner of Denny & Company, LLP said in a statement.

John Shaffery Selected as Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America
John H. Shaffery, co-founder of Poole & Shaffery, LLP, has been selected to become a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, the first major national trial lawyer honorary society.

Fellowship in the Litigation Counsel of America is highly selective and extended by invitation only to experienced trial lawyers and appellate lawyers. Membership is limited to 3,500, which represents less than one half of one percent of American lawyers.

In his 15-year career, Shaffery has represented clients in a range of business disputes, complex multiparty environmental matters, product liability and chemical exposure claims, labor matters and construction defect cases.

Shaffery is a member of the California Bar, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and a founding member of the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before all District Courts of California.

He is also involved in community service as he sits on the board of directors for the nonprofit organization, LETMESAIL. He also serves as legal counsel for the Valley Industrial Association and serves on the board of directors for the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.
