The Canyon Country Advisory Committee will host its monthly meeting tonight, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the Banquet Room at Mint Canyon Moose Family Center.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the chloride issue from Ventura's perspective, plus meet the candidates running for seats on Castaic Late Water Agency's Board of Directors, Ed Colley and Kevin Korenthal.

The chloride issue has the potential to cost Santa Clarita residents $210 million and raise sanitation rates to $650 per year by 2025. It is important to understand both sides of the issue in order to make an informed decision.

Mike Solomon (General Manager, United Water Conservation District), Rob Roy (President, Ventura County Agricultural Association) and Jeff Pratt (Director, Ventura County) have agreed to present and answer questions about Ventura's view of the chloride issue.

Also, CCAC will present a Hometown Hero Award to Diane Trautman for her two terms of exemplary service on Santa Clarita's Planning Commission.

Mint Canyon Moose Family Center is located at 18000 Sierra Highway, Canyon Country 91351.
