Sunday, Dec. 5
With some magical help from Santa Claus, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital will light the Community Tree at the 25th annual Community Tree Lighting celebration which 2-5 p.m. on the hospital campus, 23845 McBean Parkway, Valencia. The free festival includes music and entertainment provided by hospital staff, local school’s children choirs, dance studios, and performers. Santa and Mrs. Claus will usher in the holiday season with their arrival and magically light the holiday tree at dusk.

Military pictures wanted
The community is invited to submit wallet-sized photos of their military loved ones (active duty, reserves, veterans and fallen heroes) through the month of November for holiday tree at the Veteran’s Historical Plaza in Old Town Newhall. Photos will be laminated and hung on a 26’ pine tree at the plaza for Santa Clarita’s fourth annual Tree Lighting to honor the military. Operation Thank Our Troops
Annual community collection drive for military care packages, items need include granola bars, beef jerky, white and black cotton sport socks, canned ravioli with pop tops, batteries, international phone cards, gloves, beanies, flashlights, treats and toys for dogs, as well as card and letters of support.
