Movie at Church on the Way
The Church on the Way will hold a Labor Day drive-in movie at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The church, at 23415 Cinema Drive in Valencia, purchased the former Mann Theatre property in 2004. After three years of renovation, the Foursquare Church opened in April 2007.Visitors are invited to bring their own lawn chair or blanket to watch the family-friendly movie under the stars. The church will provide snacks.

It’s Christmas in September?
The Friendly Valley Community Church will celebrate Christmas at 10 a.m. Sunday. Dr. Stan Fix will bring the message, “Merry Living.” Anyone is welcome to attend the service at 19246 Avenue of the Oaks.

Worship at First Presbyterian
Pastor Bill Barnes at the First Presbyterian Church of Newhall will preach a sermon series titled, “Games we play when it all goes back in the box anyway.” The sermon runs through Sunday. Worship services are at 9 a.m. traditional and 10:45 a.m. contemporary style. The First Presbyterian Church of Newhall is located at 24317 N. Newhall Avenue in Newhall.

CROP Walk to be held Monday

The 12th Annual SCV Community Walk for the Hungry (CROP Walk) will be held Monday with registration at 8:30 a.m. The 4.5-mile walk, sponsored by the SCV Interfaith Council, will begin and end at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church at 24901 Orchard Village Road in Newhall. The Boys Scouts of America will host a food drive along with the walk. The walk is designed to raise awareness about the hungry and homeless living in the Santa Clarita Valley.This year’s walk will benefit the SCV Food Pantry, the SCV Winter Emergency Shelter and The Church of Hope Food Pantry. Trinity Academy hosts WorshipFest
Trinity Classical Academy hosts its third annual WorshipFest benefit concert at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26. The benefit concert will feature recording artist and worship leader Lincoln Brewster.Visitors can bring their family, a blanket and meal to Grace Baptist Church at 5 p.m. for a pre-concert picnic. Pizza and soda will be on sale. Proceeds from WorshipFest will go towards Trinity’s goal of providing a classical Christian education for children. Oak Hill church  hosts men’s retreat
Oak Hill Bible Church, a nondenominational Christian church, will hold its first men’s retreat Sept. 26 to 29 at New Melones Lake in central California. Daily Bible lessons, prayer and fellowship will be the focus of the trip. Houseboats will be utilized to maximize the camaraderie of men seeking a closer relationship with God. Grace Baptist joy study meets in fall
Grace Baptist Church will host “Joy of Living” Bible studies from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays starting Oct. 1. They will be an in-depth study of God’s word in an informal, small group setting.

Local man offers meditation time
Jonathan Kraut, a local Buddhist, is offering meditation services on the second Thursday of every month at his home sanctuary in Canyon Country. The next hour-long session will be held Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. For more information or directions, call Jonathan Kraut at (661) 618-1105.

Hope-n-Mic at the New Naz
Every third Thursday of the month, Newhall Church of the Nazarene hosts “Hope-n-Mic,” a new open mic forum for Christian musicians and their friends. Guests are invited to come and play their music or to stop in and listen. All ages and musical styles are welcome, provided the lyrics are appropriate to a Christian audience. Piano, keyboard, amps, sound system and drums are provided. Bring any other instrument you want. Light refreshments will be served.
