Two Palmdale juveniles, both age 16, were arrested on felony burglary charges by detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station this morning, according to a news release from the station.

A search continues for a third suspect, a boy age 14.

SCV Sheriff's Station Burglary and Fraud detectives have been investigating as many as 50 residential and vehicle burglaries reported over the past two and a half months in the Fair Oaks Ranch area of Canyon Country and the Jakes Way area of Canyon Country.

Detectives got the break they had been hoping for through a recent case in which a homeowner's high quality camera surveillance system caught one of the subjects on video.

Using the video and other investigative tools, detectives were able to identify one of the subjects involved.

The investigation culminated early today when Burglary and Fraud detectives coordinated a special search warrant operation involving deputies assigned to the city of Santa Clarita/Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Community Interaction Team, COBRA team and the Juvenile Intervention Team.

Authorities served three search warrants in Canyon Country and two in Palmdale. At a residence in the 4500 block of Ridgewood Court in Palmdale, deputies recovered several items including televisions, video gaming systems and other electronics believed to be stolen in many of the Santa Clarita Valley burglaries.

Both suspects were booked at the SCV Sheriff's Station on felony burglary charges. They will be transferred to Sylmar Juvenile Hall and held there without bail pending future court proceedings.

Detectives believe these arrests will clear a significant number of SCV burglary cases.

Anyone with information about a local crime is encouraged to contact the SCV Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121.
