Bring the whole family and celebrate New Year's Eve at Mountasia Fun Center from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. You get 10 hours of fun for $20 per person, which includes unlimited Lazer Tag, Rock Wall, Go Karts, Bumper Boats and Miniature Golf. Play at Mountasia Fun Center and get home in plenty of time to watch the ball drop, If it rains, there will be a special package deal available for indoor attractions, too. What better way to bring in the New Year than a magical evening journey on the Fillmore & Western Railway Co. vintage passenger train? During the trip, enjoy an elegant dinner prepared and served onboard while members of P. Maxwell Productions acting troupe entertain you as famous "Hollywood personalities." After dinner, dance in the Cheyenne Social Club dance car and party ‘til the new year arrives.
A midnight champagne toast, complete with party favors highlight the evening. After the clock strikes 2011, return back to the Fillmore station with an evening full of memories. The train boards at 7:30 p.m., departs Fillmore's downtown Central Park station at 8 p.m. and returns at 12:30 a.m. on New Years Day. Celebrate New Year's Eve with the Repertory East Playhouse on Dec. 31 beginning at 8 p.m. For one night the prince and the pauper can mingle and dance with one another without being known. Tickets are $60 per person, $100 per couple (21 and over only). Included in the ticket price is a petite buffet by RSVP, The Catering Company, complimentary wine by Engelmann Cellars and a champagne toast to ring in the New Year. The Oaks Grille at the Tournament Players Club celebrates New Year's Eve with a cocktail hour from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. featuring "an Empire State of mind" theme. Dinner is a four course New York-style cuisine by Chef Daniel Otto at $79 per person. This is a black tie affair. Live music begins at 9:30 p.m. with the Acoustic Knuckleheads. Dave Ford & the Last Set will perform at Salt Creek on New Year's Eve from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and party favors and champagne will help revelers start 2011. The regular dinner menu will be offered until 11 p.m., along with chef's specials: poached pear salad ($7.95); appetizer of baked brie cheese ($13.95); choice of two entrees, chicken Madera ($18.95) or filet mignon and crab cake ($35.95); and for dessert, chocolate pannacota ($6.95).

El Trocadero is celebrating the New Year easy-style. The regular restaurant menu will be available as well as special items. Dinner will be served from 4 p.m. to closing. There is no cover charge and reservations are recommended. The restaurant will be open on Jan. 1, starting at 4 p.m. as well.

Two New Year's Eve shows will be offered at J.R.'s. The East Coast New Year's celebration will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature comedians Don McMillan and Mike Pace. The West coast New Year's celebration will be held from 8:30 p.m. to midnight, and feature the same performers. Tickets at $64 per person and include dinner, champagne toast, party favors and noisemakers. Make your reservations early.

The 5th annual Glacier Slide Polar Bear Swim will splash at 9 a.m. on Jan. 1. The Aquatic Center doors open at 8:45 a.m. and the cost is $3. The event is a chilly plunge in the Waterslide Pool and spectators are welcome to come and cheer on their "bears." Warm up by the heaters and enjoy coffee and hot chocolate. There will be a commemorative gift for anyone that participates.

New Year's Day, the Nature Center will be open as usual, with a Family Nature Walk at 11 a.m. and a Native Live Animal Presentation at 1 p.m. There is no charge for these programs and they are fun for the whole family.

Rose Parade
The 122st Rose Parade will take place on Friday, Jan. 1, 2011 at 8 a.m. (PST), featuring spirited marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats and high-stepping equestrian units. The parade, themed Building Dreams, Friendships & Memories, will be broadcast on ABC, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, KTLA (Tribune), NBC, RFD-TV, and Univision. Grandstand seating for the Rose Parade is available through Sharp Seating Company, the official Grandstand Seating Provider at (626) 795-4171 through Dec. 31. Every person, regardless of age, must have a ticket to sit in the grandstands. However, if a child is two years of age or younger he/she may sit on an adult's lap. If not seated on an adult's lap, each child must have a ticket.
Curbside viewing is also welcome on a first-come, first-served basis. Pasadena city ordinance allows the occupancy of curbside space along the parade route beginning at noon on the day before the parade. For hints and rules about curbside viewing, visit the Pasadena Police Department website Grandstand ticket prices range from $42 to $88 per seat, depending on location, plus $30 for a parking pass. Sharp Seating also provides tickets for a variety of pre- and post-parade events, including BandFest and EquestFest.
