Professional grade skin care and a diligent daily regimen are keys to looking and feeling good, inside and out.

When it comes to looking great, here’s the scoop. Anything you do to invest in taking care of and maintaining your skin’s health and appearance, beginning now, will preserve your looks for years to come.

I always say “invest in yourself” because, believe me, it’s difficult years down the road to try and play catch up. It is much better and much easier to maintain your skin as early on as you can to prevent and minimize potential signs of aging.

The point is,  time has a way of getting away from us, so there is no time like this new year to get started on the best you now.

Before you realize it, three months, six months, a year will fly by, and even though you may be a year older, you will begin to look better instead of older.

The formula for getting better instead of older? Quality professional skin care products.

With consumers demanding the best the industry has to offer and with the technology and information we have available today, results are being delivered.

You will get what you pay for, so even if you can only start with one or two quality products at a time, that’s a great start. Then collect additional products as you can.

When it comes to investing in your skin care, remember:

Get the best level of quality professional grade skin care products that your budget will allow. To help with this effort, seek the recommendation of licensed experienced professionals or a dermatologist if you have any particular skin condition(s), such as acne or severe dryness.

Figure out a budget you can stick with for each month and make a plan for which products to purchase. Typically, it is best to start with a cleanser, toner, moisturizer and sunscreen, preferably with an SPF of 30 and broad spectrum coverage. (Note: Always apply sunscreen last during your skin care regimen, after moisturizer and before makeup. You want to make sure all those great ingredients are in all those quality products you purchased have the chance to get absorbed and utilized first).

Once you acquire the suggested skin care starters, you can move up the scale to specialty items for a multitude of additional benefits, including state-of-the-art anti-aging serums, calming serums, lighteners for age spots, skin smoothers, anti-wrinkle formulas and multi-repair eye creams.

The next step is to follow the recommended daily uses. Yes, every day. By doing so, you should see benefits virtually immediately. That’s how quality works. And that’s how you will begin to enjoy your daily skin care regimen, by looking in the mirror and seeing the improvements.

Real beauty is more than skin-deep. Since happiness is something each of creates for ourselves, it follows that anything we do to look better and feel better about ourselves will increase our own personal happiness and lend itself outward to our partners, families, friends and business.

Remember, getting and taking the best care of your skin and appearance is not a luxury. It is a necessity in the immediate and long-term maintenance of your own self-image.

It’s about the feeling of being our best and at our best at all times. You can’t put a price on that.
