Shame on Edison for stealing savings

For many years I lived in an upscale area in the Westside of Los Angeles. Retirement was in my near future, so I started looking at retirement communities.

When I discovered Belcaro in the Santa Clarita Valley, I was thrilled. It was everything I was looking for!

It was a gated 55-and-older community, located in a city that promotes cleanliness, and more importantly, a safe city with a low crime rate. I was also happy that I would still be in close proximity to the city of Los Angeles, where I have many acquaintances and friends.

I felt strongly that in choosing Belcaro, I would be secure in that I would not have to worry about being a victim of having my purse snatched, my car hijacked or my home burglarized, as often happens to senior citizens in the big city. It seemed like the perfect choice!

So I made the decision to invest most of my savings into a new home in Belcaro. For almost four years, I have enjoyed the beauty and comforts of living here in the Santa Clarita Valley that, by the way, lived up to its good reputation and more!

Then, one morning, I looked out and in one fell swoop Edison stole everything from me by dropping a huge 210-foot, humongous tower just 250 feet from my home. (This actually took about two weeks.)

The location of the tower has significantly diminished the value of my home, making it impossible for me to move away from these towers because no one in their right mind would buy my house now.

So, Edison, you didn't just steal my purse or my car or burglarize my home. You stole everything from me. You stole my savings! You stole my quality of life! You stole my peace!

This has been a nightmare that I am now living day to day. So much for feeling secure and comfortable in my retirement years! You took it all away, Edison! Shame on you!
