Hart wins tight tennis tiebreaker

Anne Susdorf stayed undefeated at 15-0 in her matches this season, helping the Hart High School girls tennis team defeat Buena on Thursday in a tiebreaker.

The final score was tied at 9, but the Indians won in total points, 81-65.

Shelly Sachdeva won one set in singles, 6-0.

In doubles the No. 1 team of Jessica Martinez and Stephanie Waung swept all three matches. The number three team of Julie Lefko and Cassie Moore won two of three. Hart is now 2-3 in nonleague and plays Buckely tomorrow at Hart.

Harts junior varsity team lost a close on 3-4. Winning sets were the doubles team of Madison Mott and Shannon Cholakian, Kendall Jackson and Stephanie Rodriquez, and Abby Taft.

Glendora 3, Hart 1

Hart High School lost a tough first game and could not overcome it Thursday, in a four-set loss at Glendora High.

The Indians went down 28-30, won the next game 25-19, but lost the next two games, 13-25 and 21-25.

Jennie Long put away eight kills for Hart.

Allison Tolezo finished with 46 digs, Breena Beckett put away 11 blocks on defense.

Hart 206, West Ranch 226

Amanda Corr of Hart High was the medalist on Thursday, in a 20-point victory over West Ranch at Woodley Lakes Golf Course in Van Nuys.

Corr was the leading scorer on the par-36 course. Brenna Carlson shot a 39 over nine holes.

West Ranch's Sarah Kang shot a 41, Diane Kim came up with a 44.

Valencia 2, Buena 1

Valencia's Kimmy Henderson made 12 kills in a three-set win.

Bree Farley capped the night off with 21 assists.

Valencia 30, Birmingham 12
Quarterback Ryan Gorman led the Valencia Viking football team to victory at Valencia High.

Cody Anciano and Zack Kelly both scored on touchdown runs. Danny Courtenay and Gorman both picked up interceptions.

Canyon 41, Norco 0
A dominant Canyon Cowboy football team was good on both sides of the ball in a rout of the Cougars at Canyon High School.

Shareef Singletary threw two touchdowns and ran for a 78-yard score. Sean Guzman also rushed for a touchdown.
