Hart baseball player Trevor Brown has verbally committed to play at UCLA for the Spring 2010 season.

Brown was the Indians starting centerfielder last year and batted a solid .343, with 14 RBIs and 17 runs.

"It's exciting because he's made a lot of progress and improvement," Hart head coach Jim Ozella said. "He's blossomed more and more as he played. Trevor has a bright future."

Brown will join former teammate Trevor Bauer who graduates in December and will be apart of the Bruins squad in the spring 2009 season.

Shane Morales, former Valencia football player, is ranked second among receivers in the Pac-10 with 22 receptions for 284 yards and two touchdowns.

Morales is also tied for 15th in the nation in receptions per game with 7.33.

Morales transferred to Oregon State University from the College of the Canyons where he caught 36 passes for 598 yards and two touchdowns.

College of the Canyons quarterback Joey Frias was named Offensive Player of the Week by the Southern California Football Association.

In the Cougars' win over L.A. Valley on Saturday, Frias was 23-of-33 for 282 yards and five touchdown passes.

Former Canyon soccer player Alexia Zatarain is currently leading her UC San Diego Tritons team in scoring.

Zatarain, a junior majoring in Political Theory, is leading in goals with three. She's been a significant factor in the team's 5-1-1 start.

Last year, Zatarain started in 11 games during her sophomore season and was ranked third on the team with assists (3) and netting one goal.

Hart graduates Lindsay Mills and Katie Kuykendall, both freshmen, are also apart of the lady Tritons squad.

Go Runners
Saugus graduate Marina Constantinou made four saves in Cal State Bakersfield's win over Weber State this past weekend.

The Roadrunners concluded their run in the UC Irvine Invitational. Along with Constantinou, former Centurion Jamie Havelin was named to the all-tournament team.
