A Lake Los Angeles woman was arrested for allegedly possessing and transporting heroin for sale and using her teenage son to conceal bags of the drug in his pants, according to a news release from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

Deputies stopped a car driven by Beatriz Flores, 31, at Golden Valley Road and Robert C Lee Parkway in Canyon Country Monday at 5:45 p.m., with two of her children, ages 11 and 14, riding in the car.

During a search deputies found that the 14-year-old boy had six bags of heroin concealed in the groin area of his pants. Flores admitted she had him put the drugs in his pants to conceal them, according to the news release.

Deputies found evidence Flores had been selling drugs, and arrested her for possession of heroin for sales, transporting heroin, child endangerment, and inducing a minor to transport heroin.

During booking on those charges at the SCV Sheriff's Station, deputies found methamphetamine hidden in Flores' clothing, according to the news release. She was subsequently charged with possession of methamphetamine for sales, transportation of methamphetamine, and bringing drugs into a jail.

Flores' two children were released to the Los Angeles County Department of Children's Services for protection. An additional investigation into the welfare of the other two children will be conducted.

Flores is being held in the Santa Clarita Valley Station jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
