A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism at about 8 a.m. for allegedly shooting out windows at Saugus High School with a pellet gun earlier this week.

The teen, whose name was not released by law enforcement, was identified by investigators through the use of video surveillance cameras at the school, Lt. Bill Weiss of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station said.

The cost of the damage is estimated at about $2,000.

Information on when the teen shot out the windows, where he was arrested or how many windows were damaged was not immediately available, Weiss said.

Weiss said the teen will either be released back to his parents or to Sylmar Juvenile Hall.
