The summer season is upon us and fun is in the air. In celebration of the warm sunny season, Santa Clarita Transit is excited to launch a multitude of enjoyable, convenient transportation options for teens, families and seniors.
The city’s Transit division provides a range of transportation services throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, as well as surrounding cities and destinations. With fast, reliable service, Santa Clarita Transit can help save money, increase mobility options, and plan fun adventures around the community and other neighboring cities.

Summer Beach Bus
The city of Santa Clarita is proud to welcome back the popular and expanded Summer Beach Bus, offering affordable weekend rides to Santa Monica Beach throughout the summer months. Grab your sunscreen, towel, chair, and surfboard and enjoy a relaxing ride to the beach in one of the city’s comfortable, air-conditioned commuter buses.
Traveling on Saturdays and Sundays from June 4 through September 4, fares are $3 each way for children and adults, with tickets available at $1.50 each way for persons with disabilities and seniors 60 years of age and over.


Buses will depart Santa Clarita beginning at 8:30 a.m., arriving in Santa Monica around 10:30 a.m. and will pick-up patrons from Santa Monica at 3:30p.m. for the return trip back to Santa Clarita.

This year, the weekend Summer Beach Bus has added a second Saturday service route to the schedule with multiple departure locations. On Saturdays, the city will run two busses, with one bus, Route 100, serving the east side of the city, and a second bus, Route 101, serving the west side of the city.  On Sunday, the city will utilize one bus to service both the east and west sides of Santa Clarita.

Community members can travel from the canyons to the sea and back again from various locations across the city, including Santa Clarita Park, Santa Clarita Metrolink Station, Cinema Drive Park ‘N Ride, McBean Regional Transit Center, Canyon Country Park, Soledad Canyon Road and Solamint Drive, Soledad Canyon Road and Shangri-La Drive, and the Via Princessa Metrolink Station.

Summer Tourism Trolley
The city of Santa Clarita’s summer service aboard the Hometown Trolley is a convenient way to make the most of any visit to Santa Clarita, offering service from several premier hotels to select destinations throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, all free of charge.

The Hometown Trolley is intended for visitors spending time in the Santa Clarita Valley, but is also a fun, unique way for residents to experience the area’s attractions, dining, and shopping options.

The Hometown Trolley is available Thursday through Sunday from May 26 through September 4, and includes service from popular destination spots like Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, and the Westfield Valencia Town Center. 

Seating on the Hometown Trolley is on a first come, first serve basis.  Pick-up locations from the following hotels include the Hyatt Regency, Courtyard by Marriot & Embassy Suites, La Quinta Inn and Suites, Holiday Inn Express & Best Western, Hilton Garden Inn and Comfort Suites. Senior Farmer’s Market Trolley
Beginning Thursday June 2, the city will offer free shuttle service for seniors to the Old Town Newhall Farmer’s Market on Main Street, every Thursday from various senior resident living facilities.

Each week, the city hosts the Farmers Market and Art Walk on Thursday nights from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in Old Town Newhall, featuring local produce, a variety of food trucks, live performances, and various kinds of art from local artists.

The Newhall/Valencia Shuttle will serve Newhall Terrace Senior Apartments, Valley Oaks Village, The Willows Apartments, and Whispering Oaks Senior Apartments  On Thursday, June 9, Santa Clarita Transit will kick-off a second shuttle route, with service to Bouquet Canyon Senior Apartments, Canyon Country Senior Apartments, and Canyon Villa Senior Apartments  Both shuttle routes will begin at 3:30 p.m. and run in a continuous loop until 7:30 p.m. each Thursday.
