‘South Pacific’ in the SCV

The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons presents the musical "South Pacific," with students combining their talents under the direction of adjunct theater director Andrea Slominski.

The play tells the the story of two couples and how their happiness is threatened by war and prejudice.

"This production features a talented and experienced cast of student and community performers, a creative and dedicated team of directors and designers, a glorious score to sing and a Pulitzer Prize-winning script to enact," said Paul Wickline, COC theater department chair and play producer.

"South Pacific" will run for two weekends on the main stage, opening at 8 p.m. Oct. 17. Additional performances will run: 8 p.m. Oct. 18, 2 p.m. Oct. 19, 8 p.m. Oct. 24, 8 p.m. Oct. 25, 2 p.m. Oct. 26.
