A Superior Court judge Thursday postponed indefinitely the trial for Adrian Arriano, who is charged with a series of Canyon Country rapes in 2007.

Arriano's pre-trial conference was scheduled to Oct. 27, said Karen Brown, spokeswoman for San Fernando Superior Court.

Arriano is accused of a series of 2007 knife-point sexual assaults in Canyon Country. He was identified by Erin O'Brien after he allegedly broke into her apartment and allegedly tried to assault him.

The composite sketch based on O'Brien's description helped nab Arriano after he allegedly tried to climb into a second-floor condominium in Newhall on Sept. 10, 2007.

Arriano was arraigned Oct. 11, 2007, and charged with one count of attempted murder, nine counts of forcible rape, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, three counts of sodomy, three counts of forced oral copulation, four counts of burglary, one count of false imprisonment by violence, one count of residential robbery and one count of assault to commit a felony during a burglary.

He pleaded not guilty.

Arriano is under a deportation hold by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service, said spokeswoman Lori Hasley.

Arriano is being held at the Men's Central Jail in lieu of $10 million bail.
