The Fourth of July will be jam-packed with fun in the Santa Clarita Valley - as usual, starting with the Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast, and the Independence Day Classic Run, followed closely by the Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade. The day will end with spectacular fireworks shows at three locations. If that is not enough, you can certainly move out to other holiday celebrations from Acton to the Hollywood Bowl, and amusement parks all around are bringing you special holiday activities.

Fourth of July Santa Clarita Valley

Santa Clarita Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast
Where: Held in Newhall at the Roger Dunn Golf parking lot on Main Street between 5th and 6th Streets
When: 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
What: The breakfast, at $4, includes pancakes, sausages, orange juice and coffee.

Independence Day Classic Run
Where: Newhall Memorial Park, 24933 Newhall Ave., Newhall, CA 91321
When: 10K begins at 7 a.m., 5K and walk start at 8 a.m., Kiddie K starts at 7:45 a.m.
What: Presented by the Santa Clarita Runners, as always there will be a 5K race, and a non-competitive walk, as well as a Kiddie K. This year there is a 10K and 15K challenge as well. The races will benefit the high school cross country programs in the SCV.

Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade
Where: Parade runs north along Main Street (formerly San Fernando Road) from 5th Street to Lyons Avenue, turns west on Lyons and then north onto Orchard Village Road, ending at 16th Street.
When: Parade begins at 9 a.m.
What: Suffragettes will be the "grand marshal" of the parade - which, as always, will be loaded with horses, floats, music, fire trucks, kids, cars, military and more.

Castaic Lake
When: Music from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m.
What: Enjoy the lake and recreation area all day for $25 per carload or $5 per person walk-in (5 years and under free) - followed by music and fireworks.

Fireworks at Westfield Valencia Town Center
Where: Westfield Valencia Town Center
When: 9:15 p.m.
What: Bring the whole family for the fireworks show and watch from just about anywhere at the Westfield Valencia Town Center. Bring a portable radio or listen from your car radio to the fireworks soundtrack broadcast live on KHTS AM-1220. Info:

San Fernando Valley Independence Day Celebration
Where: Hansen Dam Recreation Area, 11770 Foothill Blvd., Lake View Terrace, CA
When: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
What: A holiday celebration featuring music and other live entertainment, food and fireworks. Take a swim in the 1.5-acre swim lake available for use during the day.

July 4th Fireworks Festival in Studio City
Where: CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave., Studio City, CA
When: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., gates open at 4:30 p.m.
What: This is a fun-filled family festival featuring exhibits, music, food, fireworks, a children's fun zone and a business exposition in a back lot at CBS Studios. Adults $20 at the gate, children 6-12 $10 at the gate, add $20 for rooftop viewing access or pay $100 for VIP tickets. Parking is free.

Starlight Bowl

Aquarium of the Pacific
Where: 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA 90802
When: Aquarium hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fireworks (nearby) begin at 9 p.m.
What: Celebrate Independence Day with the red, white and blue fish at the Aquarium of the Pacific. Families will be able to witness the ambiance of the Aquarium at night and get a fish-eye view of the City of Long Beach fireworks display. Admission for everyone is just $12.95 after 5 p.m. For an additional cost, enjoy a buffet barbecue on the Front Lawn from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Barbecue seating is limited and advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Fourth of July at the Rose Bowl
Where: Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA
When: 2 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. (fireworks at 9:05 p.m.)
What: Celebrate America with music, food and fireworks. A full day of safe and affordable family fun.

Redondo Beach Fireworks

When: Gates open at 2 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m.
What: Fireworks, Kids annual Freedom Parade at 7 p.m., live entertainment until 10:30 p.m.

Legoland Red White and Boom!
