Letter: ‘Food Revolution’ should be in SCV schools

You will see by my address that I’m not a Santa Clarita Valley resident. However, I have friends with children who live within the Santa Clarita Valley school districts.

I care about those children and the other children of our nation. Almost every day, the Los Angeles Times has a negative report on the Los Angeles United School District.

I was very disappointed when I read that the LAUSD had turned away “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” program. I thought that the LAUSD couldn’t even do something right by adopting the “Food Revolution.”

Now, I have learned that the SCV district has also overlooked the needs of children.

My friends moved to the Santa Clarita area because they wanted to raise their children in a safe, caring environment, with better schools. The SCV district officials have apparently forgotten about the importance of nourishment of the body in a child’s well-being.

What a shame.
