County abandons plan for Agua Dulce road improvement

County supervisors abandoned plans for an easement on an Agua Dulce road this week after five years of inactivity on the proposal.

Agate Hill Lane and its slope, about four miles northeast of Vasquez Rocks, was dedicated to county plans for roadwork more than five years ago.

But in that time, no work transpired.

Supervisors reviewing a recommendation to give up on the easement were advised to consider that the road and easement "have not been used for the purpose for which they were dedicated or acquired."

The Agate Hill Lane area, which now reverts to the control of the property's owners, covers about 18,300 feet on the area set aside for the easement along the county's road and about 12,230 square feet of easement for the slope.

Property owners plan to use the land for a utility building.
