UPDATED 12:05 p.m.
According to L.A. County Fire Inspector Frank Garrido, the Princessa fire was extinguished at 10:58 a.m.; the fire burned four acres of light brush but damaged no structures.

Firefighters responded to a report of smoke in the Escondido Canyon area but it turned out to be in the Antelope Valley, so local crews were re-assigned to the Princessa fire.

The Via Princessa on-ramp and off-ramp at Highway 14 remain closed for now; the southbound carpool and lanes one, two and three are open.
