The L.A. County District Attorney's office is deciding whether or not to file charges in connection with a fatal collision between a bus and a car in Stevenson Ranch last January.

The Jan. 18 collision involved a Santa Clarita Transit bus which struck a passenger vehicle at the intersection of The Old Road and Constitution Avenue.

The driver of the car, 25-year-old Janine Doughlin of Stevenson Ranch, died at the scene. Several junior high school children riding in the bus suffered minor injuries.

The investigation into the crash, which was handled by the California Highway Patrol, was completed Wednesday, according to Officer Michelle Esposito at the Newhall-area CHP station.

Esposito did not give any details of the investigation except to say that it revealed that there may have been possible criminal liability on the part of the bus driver, 49-year-old David Delape of Rosamond.

Doughlin was attempting to make a left turn from Constitution onto the northbound side of The Old Road when her car was broadsided in the intersection by the bus, which was traveling southbound on the Old Road.

The case was handed over to the District Attorney on Thursday. Sandi Gibbons, spokes-man for the D.A.'s office, said that a decision on whether charges will be filed will be made sometime next week.
