Salisbury speaks at TPC Valencia

Branding guru talks business

Advertising Professionals of North Los Angeles County invites business executives, designers, advertisers and marketing professionals to a special business luncheon featuring legendary branding designer Mike Salisbury as keynote speaker at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 24 at the Tournament Players Club, 26550 Heritage View Lane in Valencia.

Salisbury is the mastermind behind popular branding icons such as Joe Camel, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Levi's 501 jeans and Michael Jackson's white glove.

Salisbury's portfolio is beyond impressive.

His work encompasses a wide spectrum of diverse industries including consumer products, publishing, magazine photography, more than 300 marketing campaigns for movies, and music industry album covers for legends such as George Harrison, James Taylor, and Ike and Tina Turner.

He taught design, advertising, illustration and photography at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Salisbury has also written for magazines including Men's Journal and Forbes.

"Anyone interested in learning how to take a brand from good to great should attend this special business event," said Bryan Hauge, ADPROS president. "Mike Salisbury's photography and design work have been featured in museum shows worldwide.

"We're fortunate that he is traveling to the Santa Clarita Valley to share his secrets for creating sustainable brand success."

The business luncheon is open to the public. Space is limited. Cost is $35 in advance and $45 at the event.

Special pricing for students currently studying design, advertising, marketing, business, visual arts or other media is available at $15.
