School starts too early in Valencia

Does school start too early? I go Valencia High School, and our school starts at 8 a.m.

This is too early in the morning. We students have to wake up early in the morning to get ready for school, and we don't get enough sleep. School lets out at 3 p.m. for most students. This gives the students about seven hours to get all their homework done, eat dinner, go to any extra-curricular activities, and go to sleep by 10 p.m. If school started an hour later, then we would be more rested and less rushed.

In my area, three local schools all start within five minutes of each other. Starting later would allow less traffic congestion and encourage more students to walk or ride their bicycles.

In my first class of the day, several students are tardy, absent, or fall asleep. Having school at a later time would be helpful for the students, teachers and community.
