Fatburger is coming to town, and the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center is holding a recruitment event Friday at 10 a.m. for job-seekers.

Hiring for part-time positions, the eatery is looking for restaurant people to work in the restaurant and serve as cooks at the new location expected to open on The Old Road.

“We actually help to recruit on behalf of any interested employer,” said Jessica Jackson, communications specialist with the city of Santa Clarita.

“We connect job-seekers to employers looking to fill available positions,” Jackson said. “Fatburger requested assistance.”

The WorkSource Center, a free resource for businesses and job-seekers, has held large recruitment events in the recent past to recruit for several new retailers readying to open stores in the Shops at The Patios at the Westfield Valencia Town Center, and for the Valley Produce Market, which opened in the location vacated by Bristol Farms.

As an added benefit, the WorkSource Center is also able to pre-screen and identify all new employees eligible under the Enterprise Zone program.

The Santa Clarita Valley is awaiting final approval of its Enterprise Zone program, which grants tax credits to businesses.

The recruitment event for Fatburger will be held at the Goodwill Job Services Center, located at 20655 Soledad Canyon Road, Unit 25 in Santa Clarita.

“Candidates must be there at 10 a.m. to be considered,” Jackson said.

Job-seekers should also come dressed to impress, Jackson said, and bring multiple copies of their resumes, as well as proof of “right to work” documents, such as a valid Social Security card. Candidates should also be prepared for on-site interviews.
