The Vasquez High School principal states that Vasquez High School has a zero tolerance for bullies. If there truly was a zero tolerance policy in place, the bullying of the boy that committed suicide would not have continued on a daily basis.

Why is it that no one knows anything is going on until a tragedy like this occurs, and then all of a sudden everyone knew what was going on but did nothing? Stories come out about food being thrown at him and his pants being pulled down. What kind of cafeteria staff does not see food being thrown around?

This is disgraceful! The district should be ashamed that a child cannot go to school and feel good and safe. This is America, not some third-world country.

Mr. Daly from Jeremiah's middle school states he watched kids torment Jeremiah on a daily basis. Couldn't something have been done about these bullies at this time? We cannot always expect that kids who are tormented will ask for help. Sometimes this means retribution from the bullies. Teachers and students need to concern themselves by reporting such incidents and teachers' doing more to protect these victims.

The school system failed Jeremiah Lasater and his family. There were eight bullying incidents reported on the district's four campuses this year. It would be interesting to see what is happening with these kids. The district needs to get tough. Practicing kindness is not what bullies listen to. They need to know that they will not be going to school with their friends if there is another incident.
