I had the best time at the opening night of “The Drowsy Chaperone” on stage at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.

This show is a “must see” if you enjoy quality theater and having a great time. The best part of the show is that it is only 90 minutes with no intermission.

Like all shows that are truly exceptional, the show was over before I knew it, and I wanted more. If you want some great laughs and a chance to see some fantastic talent onstage, see “The Drowsy Chaperone” at 2 p.m. today Santa Clarita
Performing Arts Center, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia. Tickets: $12 for adults, $6 for students and seniors (a steal at twice the price for the value of entertainment you’ll receive!)

If you can’t make today’s performance you’ll only have 3 more chances, 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Oct. 30. Info: (661) 362-5304 or

Wonderful Wine Affair
It’s hard to imagine how the ladies of Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley can improve the Wine Affair:
Sip, Stroll, Savor the Sounds.

Everything about the fourth annual event, chaired by Jo Ann Vindigni, was superb. Fantastic food, wonderful wine and marvelous music made for an afternoon I hoped would never end. What fun it was to stroll up Town Center Drive, through the mall and out to The Patios! Fantastic job by everyone!

The fundraiser benefits the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center and the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Seen at the Wine Affair
Among those seen at the Wine Affair: Chris and Jayne Fall, Lois Bauccio, Adele Macpherson, Don and Cheri Fleming, Lloyd Eiser sans Kristy Swanson,  (Kristy was in New Orleans appearing at the New Orleans Film Festival), Darlene and Robert Gandara and Debbie and John Heys. Shelley Hann was spotted looking fabulous in a man’s suit from J. David’s Custom Clothiers (located in The Patios).

She was working the crowd selling raffle tickets for a custom suit donated by J. David’s. I was surprised to learn that J.

David’s also makes custom women’s suits!

And the wining continues!
The Valencia Wine Co. seventh annual Holiday Wine Tasting will be held 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6  at Tournament Players Club, 26550 Heritage View Lane, Valencia. More than 100 wines, food, and the beautiful TPC venue. Tickets are $70 each from Valencia Wine Co., 24300 Town Center Drive, Valencia. (661) 254-9300.
