Missed out on Castaic high school

After reading Jim Holt's article "Castaic High site picked," dated Oct. 16, I was reminded how long it has taken to select a site for the high school.

I know the frustration that many residents in the area have been dealing with because I am one.
In 2003, when possible building sites for a high school were being considered, the process of site selection was supposed to be short.

Unfortunately, due to selfish personal agendas and politics, this selection process took over five years!
That's five years that we could have seen two senior classes graduate. Also in that time period, think of the number of buses and cars that were on the road driving further distances unnecessarily.
I had the ability to attend Castaic Elementary and Middle Schools and find it irritating how I never got to attend Castaic High School.

Going into high school, my fellow classmates were divided between Valencia and West Ranch.
The location for a high school in Castaic should have been made with more urgency five years ago instead of worrying about personal gain and best interest!
