The third annual Rescues on the Runway will be held Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Valencia. In addition to the dinner fashion-show fundraiser, the event will feature a holiday boutique, 2-6 p.m.

The boutique, located in the lobby of the Grand Ballroom, will feature a variety of holiday gifts, and is open to the public.
Admission to the boutique is free.

The dinner fashion show fundraiser will be held at 5 p.m. Rescues On The Runway has saved hundreds of animals from kill shelters this year. Mardi Rivetti, executive director of Rescues on the Runway, has owned performing arts schools since 1977, and is the director of the Miss Santa Clarita Valley Scholarship Program. With her passions for both working with young ladies and her love for animals she created a new concept for fundraising with the Miss SCV titleholders serving as models with the pet rescues.

The purpose of this event is to raise funds to continue the efforts of saving animals from death in kill shelters.

This year the event will acknowledge Beverly Hills P.D. retired K9 Officer Bob Bloore and his K9 partner Valko. Valko has received many acknowledgements for his work in bomb-detection. He has performed security checks for four U.S.
presidents, including President Barack Obama. Also receiving acknowledgement during the event will be Operation Blankets of Love, New Life K9 rescue, Mutt Match rescue and Larry and Sharon Lawrence — the Rescues on the Runway Arizona team.

The fashion show will feature design originals of Mul Tayoba Designs and Miah Richey will show her collection of Trendsetters.

Homeless pets for adoption will be showcased during the boutique, in the Rescues On Parade and on stage at the show. The event will also feature raffles and a silent auction. Entertainment at the event includes Theresa Bruneau (Miss SCV 1996), who will sing “Puppy Love,” and Miky Tayoba and Tony Ferrell will also perform.

A Best Dressed Beauty Pageant for dogs and cats at the show will earn the Top Dog and Top Cat a crown, cloak, plaque and gift basket.

Tickets can still be purchased online at Info: (661) 252-3232.
