Here’s a handy list of some of the  major upcoming events for the first part of 2012 in the Santa Clarita Valley.


5 p.m. Jan. 21, 14th nnual Elks Roast at the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge, 17766 Sierra Highway, Canyon Country. Join emcee Bob Kellar, Elks Roast Chairman Mike Fisher and roastee John Heys. Event benefits Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers.

Feb. 25, the annual Celebrity Waiter Dinner will benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation.



6 p.m. March 3, College of the Canyons Foundation Silver Spur Celebration to honor Richard and Marian Sandnes. To be held at the Ronald Reagan Library Air Force One Pavilion, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.

10 a.m. March 29, SMO Fools Paradise Golf Tournament and Wine Tasting at Robinson Ranch Golf Club, 27734 Sand Canyon Road, Canyon Country. Enjoy a wonderful day of golf at the beautiful Robinson Ranch golf club, then finish your day with a special evening of wine, food and celebration to benefit Single Mothers Outreach.

April 21, Circle of Hope, Inc. eighth annual 5K Walk and People’s Choice Car. Walk in memory of a loved one, walk in honor of someone, walk for yourself. The day is a family-friendly fun-filled day with vendors, food, entertainment and classic cars. The People’s Choice Car Show features a variety of classic nostalgic cars. Info:


1 p.m. May 6, Taste of the Town to benefit the Child & Family Center. Enjoy all-you-can-eat/drink tastes from 40 local restaurants, caterers, wine and ale, purveyors and dessert makers at Mann Biomedical Park, 25104 Rye Canyon Loop, Valencia. Includes live entertainment and a live and silent auction.
