Martijn Sax is the new interim general manager for the Hyatt Regency Valencia hotel, replacing former general manager Chris Aldieri. Sax is with the Interstate Hotels and Resorts, a U.S.-based global hotel management company.

Noble Investment Group acquired the Hyatt in July 2008 and went on to operate the hotel under a long-term license agreement with Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

Representatives from the Noble Group and Hyatt Hotels Corporation would not comment on specifics and referred inquiries back to Sax, who would only confirm he is serving as interim manager.

Lori Alexander, Hyatt field public relations, North America did confirm a search is underway for a new general manager.

Noble said the group owns the local hotel with the right to operate under the Hyatt name, but that unlike some of its other hotel properties, the Hyatt Regency Valencia is managed directly by the onsite general manager.

The Noble Investment Group is a sponsor of private equity real estate funds and an integrated lodging and hospitality operating and development organization.

Sax is also director of rooms at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles, an Interstate Hotels and Resorts property.
